Bruriah High School’s Class of 2025 demonstrated both academic excellence and heartfelt passion as they presented their Spark! Senior Capstone Projects—a culmination of four years of joyful learning at Bruriah rooted in both Torah values and scholarly exploration.

The Spark! project serves as a unique opportunity for Bruriah seniors to dive deep into topics that spark their curiosity across multiple disciplines such as humanities, sciences, psychology and beyond—all through a Torah-informed lens. More than a research assignment, Spark! encourages critical thinking, media literacy and personal reflection, empowering each student to make her learning truly her own.

Projects this year ranged from light and fun studies to deeply personal and thought-provoking explorations. Senior Leeba Pariser explored the relationship between Tznius (modesty) and modern fashion, navigating how Jewish values intersect with contemporary self-expression. Senior Becca Gruenebaum delved into The Power of Music, examining how melodies can influence emotion, connection and even spirituality. Yaeli Koplowitz offered a nuanced look at the Jewish perspective on special needs, reflecting on inclusion and advocacy within the Torah community while stressing how our community benefits from greater special needs inclusion and education. Orli Spierer explored the sensitive topic of abuse in the Jewish community, using her platform to raise awareness and promote education which aligned nicely with her work as a school ambassador for Shalom Task Force.

These presentations reflected not only the depth and diversity of the students’ interests, but also their maturity, empathy and commitment to thinking critically through the values they’ve developed at Bruriah. The Spark! initiative is more than a capstone—it’s a celebration of student growth, leadership and purpose guided by the entire faculty.
