Bruriah STEM Students Out-Hack Competition

After out-engineering the collegiate competition at a regional hack-a-thon two weeks ago, Bruriah’s STEM students received an exclusive invitation to the coveted Weizmann Institute’s International Shalhevet Freier Physics Tournament in Israel.

Fewer than twenty schools will be participating at the tournament that will challenge teams to build unbreakable safe locks and then charge them with attempting to crack competing teams’ designs.

This incredible honor is a singular opportunity for Bruriah students to meet with and compete against some of the world’s leading scientists and technology engineers. The five-day tournament, hosted in beautiful Rechovot, Israel, will also provide outstanding religious, educational and cultural experiences for the girls.

“We look forward to continuing to share much nachas from our students,” said Rabbi Pinchas Shapiro, the JEC’s executive vice president, in an email to parents about this exciting development.
