Bruriah Student #MakesHerMark in Seton Hall Women’s Studies Essay Contest

Mazel Tov to Bruriah senior Esther Sheina Agishtein of Passaic who has been awarded one of two Honorable Mention prizes in the prestigious Seton Hall University Annual Women’s Studies Essay Contest. Esther Sheina has been formally invited to read her essay on “Women Who Inspire Me” at the Seton Hall Women’s Conference Breakfast later this month.

“Esther’s essay is not only beautifully written but it is also very timely,” said Dr.Mary McAleer Balkun, professor of English, English department chairperson and director of faculty development at Seton Hall University.

Mrs. Margueya Poupko, Bruriah’s English department chair, agreed. “Esther Sheina is an innovative thinker whose writing is always original, sophisticated and substantive. I am so proud to see her unique talents get the recognition they deserve.”

Esther Sheina is not new to the limelight and last year was part of a three person Bruriah team that took bronze in a nationwide CIJE-Tech Young Engineers Conference, along with fellow now-seniors Ariela Chomski and Talya Erblich, for their invention of the Auto-Pharmacist, a pill-dispensing device geared to minimize human error in drug dispensing in pharmacies.
