Bruriah students were thrilled to attend a Middos Tovos program last week, a student-led initiative developed to encourage personal growth as individuals and as a klal. This optional lunchtime program attracts a large and enthusiastic group of participants, all eager to take advantage of this unique opportunity for self-improvement. This session focused on the middos of hakaras haTov, dan l’kaf zchus, and kinah, with Bruriah students- Junior Samantha Flint, Sophomore Shiran Ovadia and Senior Talia Reichman- leading round-robin style workshops on each middah. They explored the textual sources for each middah, followed by a discussion of real-world examples where each middah can come to be challenged. Participants shared their own experiences, successes and struggles while strengthening each other in the process.
Personal growth is one of Bruriah’s core values and it is cultivated through formal and informal educational programs that inspire Bruriah students to grow in middos, Torah knowledge, halacha and connection to Hashem. Bruriah looks forward to continued programming throughout the rest of the school year that contributes to that end.
