Bruriah Successfully Offers Volleyball and Softball Clinics

Bruriah was happy to recently offer socially distant sports clinics for interested students. There was an outdoor clinic for softball, led by Dave Weissman and Matt, a trainer. Volleyball clinics were offered by Bruriah graduates, Avigayil Schiff and Miriam Brickman. These clinics were open to girls of all abilities, to include participants that have never touched a ball to students that have played for all years of high school. The goal was for these clinics to prepare the players for an upcoming season in the future. Aliza Hook, a freshman from Teaneck, shared that “It was nice to meet girls from other grades and strengthen my softball skills.” At the softball clinic, participants learned different effective ways to throw the ball as well as fielding techniques. At the volleyball clinic, the girls focused on strengthening foundational skills and maintaining control. Atalia Levy, a sophomore from Manalapan, said, “I really like how the coach showed us what we were doing wrong and helped us fix it. Overall it was really fun and exciting.”

Shira Pfeiffer is Bergen County resident and a junior at Bruriah High School.
