Bruriah Two-Time Champions Strike Again

After placing first in their division playoffs, Bruriah’s Torah bowl team advanced to the championships, held on April 9, in Brooklyn. The team played against Ma’ayanot, Central and SKA and emerged victorious. In preparation for this championship meet, the girls studied the entire Sefer Bereishit, including pshat and every rashi. After being neck in neck for the first half of the game, the break came with a relief to reset their minds. By the end, they were leading by over 20 points. While winning the championships is nice, what is really gained and will remain with the girls is the Torah they learned and the friendships they have made. Team captains Rivka Moskowitz and Adina Strong expressed that they were “so proud of this accomplishment for the second year in a row” and they will “greatly miss the team next year.” Thank you so much to Tzippy Carl, or as the girls call her, “Coach Carl,” for her constant support and preparation throughout the season.
