Bruriah students had the honor of hosting Rabbi Larry Rothwachs, renowned distinguished rav and speaker, for a two part series on mental health and Halacha. In the first session, he engaged the students in a compelling discussion centered around the intersection of mental health and Halacha, delving into its practical applications. Rabbi Rothwachs emphasized the Torah’s strong advocacy for mental health, highlighting its pivotal role in proper avodas Hashem. He highlighted how the Torah offers a flexible framework to address mental health issues effectively.

Last week in session two, Rabbi Rothwachs returned to discuss de-stigmatizing mental illness within our communities and fostering support and sensitivity for those facing mental health challenges. Rabbi Rothwachs provided practical examples that can be seamlessly integrated into our daily interactions both in and out of school.
