Bruriah WINS Inspires Students

Bruriah’s WINS program continues to inspire Bruriah’s students and their communities. WINS programs are hosted throughout the winter and deliver positive messages to students. Faculty member Amy Tropp and I led the Motzei Shabbat winter inspiration initiative 2018-2019 at which 33 Bruriah students gathered at Yad Leah to sort and fold clothing, as well as to hear an uplifting speech from Bruriah faculty member Rabbi Zev Goldberg on the topic of “Becoming an Inspired Leader.” Rabbi Goldberg highlighted three primary characteristics of Jewish leadership. The first, emunah, the belief in Hashem and bitachon, trust in Hashem’s plan; the second, the ability to look curiously at life and the third, a hefty dose of humility. Rabbi Goldberg illustrated his main points with moving stories and compelling vignettes, and the students saw how they could immediately implement his message. The students folded more than 600 articles of clothing that will be sent to communities throughout Israel. Partnering with an organization that was started when two people looked curiously at life, saw a problem afflicting our community and came up with a solution was an ideal complement to Rabbi Goldberg’s message.
