Auto Kraft and Glass Is Ready to Repair, Replace Your Glass

In the center of town, at the heart of Queen Anne Road and State Street, stands one of Teaneck’s oldest and finest institutions, Auto Kraft and Glass. Originally called Artwal Gulf Service, Arthur Goins Jr. opened his auto-mechanic shop on June 1,1969, servicing the Teaneck community for decades until his passing just recently, on July 6.

It was around 1986 when Arthur was first introduced to the glass industry, adding Novus Glass Services to his already successful auto repair business. In 2009, Chris Goins joined his grandfather, honing his expertise in preparation to carry on the family business.

In addition to auto glass repairs, Chris began introducing other services including window tinting and custom detailing. By June 1, 2021, Arthur officially retired and handed over the reins to Chris, who renamed the business Auto Kraft and Glass while still hanging on to the name Artwal Novus Windshield Repair as a tribute and “a continuation,” as Chris puts it.

As a Safelite Certified shop, Auto Kraft and Glass works with all insurance companies to repair windshields that have been damaged and all Safelite windshield repairs come with a lifetime warranty. Customers can bring their cars to Auto Kraft and Glass or have Chris and his team come to them via its mobile service. Auto repair services typically take a few hours to complete and are always completed the same day.

Besides windshield repair, Auto Kraft and Glass offers numerous other glass repair and installation services including repair and replacement of home windows and mirrors, installation of glass shower doors, headlight restoration and even knife sharpening.

Extremely conscientious and sensitive to his customers’ religious observance, Chris always makes special accommodations for those patrons, allowing them to drop their cars off on a Friday and pick them up after Shabbat or when Yom Tov ends. He is also quick to ensure that they can settle their invoices later in the week. “It works perfectly all the time,” he said.

Auto Kraft and Glass is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Be sure to look out for discounts and coupons.
