When the Civil Rights Movement erupted in America, the Jews, way out of proportion to any other ethnic group, flocked to support the Black population. When Black Lives Matter became a rallying cry in America, once again Jews gave their support. When October 7 took place, when the attacks on Jews on college campuses and attacks on synagogues were taking place, there was no comparable Jewish Lives Matter. While Iran threatened the extinction of the Jewish people, pro-Hamas demon(strator)s swarmed across the world, using words like “genocide,” once associated solely with Nazis. This word has now become part of the antisemitic lexicon. The very word “genocide” was a term first used as a distinctive part of the Holocaust.
I found it interesting that people on “The View” and commentators like Rachel Maddow of MSNBC seem to liken Donald Trump to Hitler. While I am not a big fan of Trump, I think this kind of rhetoric gives license to those who like to use this language.
