This week Camp 613 girls’ older bunks visited Fountainview retirement community to complete an art project with the seniors there. It was heartwarming to see how quickly the girls and the residents warmed up to each other. The girls and residents chatted as they beaded bookmarks, heads bent together in concentration and conversation. The residents told the Camp 613 adult staff, “We love seeing young people. It brings us so much joy.” The girls were awed that they even met a World War II veteran! This enriching experience brought so much sunshine on both ends. Camp 613 can’t wait to visit Fountainview again!
