Camp Acheinu Comes to Bergen County

(Courtesy of Camp Acheinu) Great news for Bergen County residents!

Camp Acheinu, a day camp for boys entering first through sixth grade, which opened its doors in 2013 in Passaic, has finally found a home in your backyard! As of Summer 2019, Camp Acheinu has relocated to Heichal HaTorah and has never been happier. As Camp Acheinu has grown every summer, it has been searching for the ideal location to suit its needs and—Baruch Hashem—it found it this year. The new, fully air conditioned facility boasts a beautiful full court gym, a large and spacious lunch room, a multi-purpose room for group activities, spacious classrooms for all bunks, as well as an indoor pool, enabling campers to swim daily—rain or shine! The camp is located right next to Sagamore Park where the boys enjoy participating in competitive sports and leagues daily.

Directed by Rookie Gross, a Passaic resident and teacher at the Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey, Camp Acheinu’s philosophy has always been to give campers wonderful, lasting memories in a warm and structured Torah environment. The camp administration believes, strongly, that exceptional staff creates a phenomenal camp environment and they pride themselves in training their wonderful staff to do so. The incredibly devoted head staff includes Rabbi David Pietruszka of Bergenfield, and Rabbi Elie Rothberger and Rabbi Nosson Silbermintz of Passaic.

Daily activities include a structured learning program, sports, swim, a special activity hosted by creative and talented program director Rabbi Avidgor Gutnciki, arts and crafts, music (with Rabbi Michael Nadata) and many exciting trips, including the annual water park trip, rented exclusively for Camp Acheinu. All parents interested in meeting the director and head staff and seeing the camp in action, are invited to join us at an Open House on Tuesday, July 30, or Wednesday August 7, from 10:00—10:45 a.m. For more information, visit the camp website at acheinudaycamp.com or email Rookie Gross at [email protected].
