This past week, the campers of Camp Mesorah had the tremendous privilege of having former NBA all star and USA gold medalist Michael Redd on campus. Throughout Redd’s 12 year basketball career he was known as an extraordinary scorer. On one occasion he even had 57 points in a 2009 game, but more importantly Redd is a master of the fundamentals of the game of basketball. During Redd’s visit to Mesorah each camper received a basketball clinic in which Redd related scenarios from his own personal career in order to impact the skills of each camper. In addition to running clinics for the campers, Redd also partook in the staff leagues, giving each player the opportunity of a lifetime to play against a former NBA superstar. The summer is a time for life changing and entertaining activities that would not be feasible in a regular classroom setting during the school year. Once again, Camp Mesorah succeeded in enhancing the enjoyment of not only their campers, but their staff as well.
