Camp Mishkan Israel Open for Summer 2022 Registration

(Courtesy of Camp Mishkan) Jewish camp is, for a lot of kids, a seminal part of their upbringing and their Jewish experience. It helps kids grow and learn about their religion, culture and community in a fun, relaxed environment. They run and play, sing and dance and come home sweaty and tired—parents’ dream!

Camp Mishkan has been that exact experience for hundreds of kids throughout Fairfield County and Westchester for the past 40 years. Directed by Rabbi and Mrs. Torenheim, Camp Mishkan offers a summer filled with various activities from swimming, sports, arts and crafts, drama and yiddishkeit. And of course, Mishkan’s famous lunches are a favorite amongst the campers. With lunch provided every day at no extra cost, parents get a welcome reprieve from packing lunches every day.

Every morning, the campers squeal with delight as the bus rumbles in front of their houses. With barely a goodbye, they jump up the steps and into their seats with their friends, with a hug or high-five from their bus counselor first, of course.

They start their days with lineup and singing, and then it’s off to the day’s activities.

Based at the Scofield school in North Stamford, many of the activities are held on campus, be it sports, arts and crafts and baking. (The challah the campers make for Shabbat is a highlight of the week!) The campers are often treated with special activities and specialists who come to them—be it horseback riding, Master Kim’s Taekwondo lessons, and of course the mega waterslide and bounce house. For the activities not available at camp, there are safe bus rides for swimming lessons, sailing, arcades, and of course, the beach. Every day is an adventure, and with the activities that return week after week their skills and confidence grow as well.

Camp Mishkan is a fun, affordable summer camp experience that your kids will love. Parents will be comforted knowing that their children are in a safe environment with individualized attention and small bunk sizes. They will come home every week with lessons from the Torah, lots of ruach and, most important of all, a pile of laundry that shows off just how much fun they had that week!
