Camp Seneca Lake Delays Opening After Counselor Tests Positive for COVID-19

(JL Staff and combined sources) Camp Seneca Lake, located in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, was forced to delay its 2020 opening by a few days when a counselor tested positive for the coronavirus upon arriving at camp for staff orientation last week.

The camp, which was set to receive campers beginning on July 5, informed parents in an email before Shabbat that its reopening had been delayed.

The counselor, although not exhibiting any symptoms, was immediately put into isolation and sent home the next day. All staff members who came into contact with the counselor were tested and quarantined pending the results of their testing. The camp planned to confirm that all tests were negative before permitting campers to arrive on the grounds.
