Cars Are Getting Cheaper: Here’s How To Tell if You’re Getting a Good Deal

Like other companies, car manufacturers publish their earnings reports, which means we get access to which models are about to be on major discount—lucky us! For example, Stellantis is in trouble: Stellantis’ Dodge brand closed out August with an average days’ vehicle supply of 149 days, nearly twice the national average of new vehicle day supply of 77 days. This means they have too many cars and need to keep producing or shut down factories. Good news for you? They’ll likely offer big discounts to move those cars!

Once you have a sense of the overall market and know where to look, here are a few go-to spots I check regularly:

Real Car Tips: It’s a quirky site, but my accountant turned me onto it, and now I’m hooked. I get their emails and always find something useful!

On Instagram, check out Ravi Wadan; this is my favorite for spotting deals.

And don’t forget your lease guy. Don’t be too pushy, but now that you’re armed with knowledge, you can ask specific questions. A couple of emails with “deal of the month” offers or following them on Instagram for updates? Trust me, they’ll appreciate it—and you’ll score some great deals. I’m always first in line for the good stuff!
