CCE to Sponsor Raizi Chechik as Scholar-in-Residence in Stamford

The Center for Community Education (CCE) at the Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy (BCHA) of Connecticut is sponsoring a scholar weekend with writer, author and Jewish educator Raizi Chechik this Shabbat, November 12, at Congregation Agudath Sholom in Stamford.

Chechik will speak three times over the course of Shabbat:

11 a.m.: Sanctuary sermon, “Reaching Towards the Infinite: A Conversation Cultivating Spirituality in Our Children and Grandchildren (and Ourselves).”

3:30 p.m. (before Mincha): Chechik will give a shiur titled, “Hakhel: What a 3,500-Year-Old Custom Can Teach Us About Educating Our Community Today.”

4:45 p.m. (seudah shlishit): “Educating for Faith, Educating for Joy: A Women’s Beit Midrash in the Vilna Ghetto.”

Raizi Chechik is the former head of school of Manhattan Day School. She is a creative and dynamic educator who brings over two decades of school leadership experience and a passion for learning and teaching..

“We are delighted to be able to bring Ms. Chechik to Stamford to teach Torah to our community members,” said Michael Feldstein, co-chair of the CCE.
