Campers at Dora Golding enjoyed a beautiful Shabbos Nachamu, followed by a fabulous Motzei Shabbos melava malka.
Sunday, the final full day of the first session, was a day of non-stop excitement. There wasn’t an open seat in the house as the lively crowd roared with excitement for the highly coveted Max-Miles prize auction for learning. Games, toys, instruments, packages and many expensive autographed sports memorabilia was awarded to the lucky winners.
This annual ritual is usually done after the banquet dinner, but this year it was done earlier because of a surprise trip! A trip on the last night of the session? Yup! The whole camp enjoyed a surprise, midnight, exclusive visit to the fabulous Kalahari indoor water park. What a way to cap off an amazing first session of camp!
Sadly, campers bid many of their friends goodbye on Monday morning, but happily welcomed many new friends who arrived later in the day. The DJ party on Monday night was a perfect way to initiate the new session, giving everyone an opportunity to dance together to blaring music.
Trip day on Thursday featured different trips for each division, including roller-skating, bowling, and paint-balling. The day was capped off with an entertaining magic show.
Next week, the final full week of the 2023 summer season, promises to be absolutely amazing.
