Teaneck’s Cedar Market, which just celebrated its 11th anniversary of providing top-quality and delicious kosher foods to the greater Teaneck community, has unveiled its newly redesigned and relocated bake shop in time for Yom Tov shopping.
The bake shop has moved from the back of the produce section to the front of the store next to customer service, just past the checkout lines, creating a dedicated space for the store’s much-beloved breads, cookies and cakes. The same taste and variety that locals have come to love are now displayed in their own beautiful and brightly lit space.
Cedar Market’s bakery has stocked the Brooklyn-based Shloimy’s Bakery products since its founding. In addition to the flagship babkas that inspired semi-hysteria in this very newspaper nine years ago (“The Vanilla Babka That Launched 100 Emails,” November 15, 2015, https://bit.ly/4gD9vRj), the bakery stocks cookies, cakes, egg challahs, and seasonal treats like teiglech, hamantaschen and honey cookies and cakes. The store’s baguettes, rye bread, bagels, pita and chocolate chip cookies are baked on-site and are always fresh. Newly available is an expanded sugar-free cookie and cake selection, as well as newly available spelt products. Sourdough loaves will now come in on Thursdays and Fridays with the heimishe and water challah selections. Cakes continue to be available for order, and the section will, as before, be continually staffed during open hours. Custom cakes can also be ordered at the bakery and via email at [email protected].
In addition to top-quality bakery and grocery items, Cedar Market also has dedicated sections and staff for fresh produce, fresh meats, poultry and fish, dairy, prepared food and sushi. It is located at 646 Cedar Lane, in Teaneck. The store has extended hours for the Yom Tov season.
