And braid dough with the ‘Challah Prince’ January 30-31.
Greater MetroWest synagogues and partner agencies will be hosting coordinated Shabbat programming on Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3 in celebration of 100 years of Jewish Federation. With 44 special events open to the community, there’s something for everyone—guest speakers and scholars-in-residence, community Shabbat dinners, fun family programs, Israeli dancing, Shabbat services and more. There will also be challah bakes in Ofakim, Arad and Rishon LeTzion, three of Greater MetroWest’s partner communities in Israel. Visit jfedgmw.org/centennial-shabbat to find events throughout the community.
In anticipation of the Centennial Shabbat celebrations, members of the Greater MetroWest Jewish community are invited to braid challah with world-renowned artistic challah baker and Instagram star Idan Chabasov, the “Challah Prince,” on Tuesday, January 30 and Wednesday, January 31. Learn unique dough-braiding techniques, hear Chabasov’s personal story, enjoy a light nosh, and take your creation home to bake in time for Shabbat. Limited tickets available. For more information, visit jfedgmw.org/challah-prince
As part of Centennial Shabbat, Federation has developed a fun-filled Shabbat activity book for children ages 2-7 and their grown-ups! This Centennial Shabbat Activity Book helps introduce young children to Shabbat traditions, Jewish values and the Greater MetroWest community.
