Celebrate Israel@70 with JFNNJ on June 10

The Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey (JFNNJ) invites the community to Celebrate Israel@70 on June 10. In the planning stages for well over a year, the event will take place in the cul-de-sac adjacent to the JFNNJ offices at

50 Eisenhower Drive in Paramus from 2 to 5 p.m.

A free-of-charge “fun” day is being planned for all generations. Featured will be Israeli dancing, Israeli food trucks, craft tables, photo booths, inflatables and ice cream. At 3 p.m., the highly touted singing group The Maccabeats will entertain the crowd. Also participating will be Silvio Berlfein, expert camping guru, who will energize the event with his vast knowledge of the world of camping.

Laura Freeman, director of marketing and communication at JFNNJ, anticipates a record attendance of close to 500 participants. At press time, more than 200 had already registered and been entered into the raffle to be drawn at the event. The prizes include an Apple watch and three Soda Stream units with bottles decorated with the images of former leaders of the state of Israel.

Freeman noted, “We wanted to create an event which would bring the entire community together, from youth to seniors, in a day of support and celebration of our beloved state of Israel.”

Incoming JFNNJ President Roberta Abrams, who was recently installed and will be taking the reins on July 1, is excited at this first-of-its kind event. “We are all very excited about the upcoming event as it represents our mission at JFNNJ of community building. We are all about investing in excellence and making an impact in our communities locally, in Israel and overseas. The celebration of Israel will hopefully bring Israel to us and especially to those who cannot physically visit the state.”

The community is invited to join the celebration. To register and be entered into the raffle, visit jfnnj.org/israel70.
