The JKHA Class of 2020 completed their time at JKHA with an advancement to remember. Students arrived at the school parking lot in cars festively decorated. They were greeted by a waving and cheering faculty as they entered in a car parade. Receiving a box of snacks and their coveted yearbook, they settled into their parking spot for the night’s events.
The day prior to graduation, JKHA middle school faculty and administration visited the home of each eughth grader to drop off their gown, gifts from Kushner Parent Activities Committee and from the school, awards and more so that they were advancement-ready!
The advancement took place drive-in movie style as the adorned cars lined up in front of several large outdoor screens. Attendees were tuned in on their car radios and listened along to Head of School Rabbi Rubin, Principal Ariel Levenson, Board Co-President Jeremy Halpern and student representative Chandler Shriky all give their addresses to the JKHA Class of 2020.
Students were then called up in groups to a socially distanced line to get ready to receive their diplomas. With car horns going off as applause and baby pictures flanking the screens each member of the JKHA Class of 2020 had their opportunity to walk across the stage and receive their diploma. A slideshow on all the screens reflecting on their nine years of being students at JKHA followed. The evening concluded with a rousing fireworks display and the advancement ceremony was lit up by columns of sparklers celebrating the JKHA Class of 2020.
