Chabad Center of Northwest New Jersey to Celebrate 35th Anniversary With Gala Dinner

(Courtesy of Chabad Center of Northwest New Jersey) The Chabad Center of Northwest New Jersey will celebrate its 35th anniversary gala dinner on Monday, June 5, at the elegant Crystal Plaza in Livingston. A lavish buffet will begin at 5:30 p.m. and a celebratory dinner and program will follow at 6:45 p.m., with this year’s guests of honor: Mr. Joel & Dr. Ronna Sherman (Atlantic Tomorrow’s Office & Summit Health)Couple Of The Year, Ian Magid (Hank Lane Music & Productions) Man Of The Year and Debra-Ann Chait – Community Service Award. Prestigious entertainment will also highlight the milestone event.

Thirty-five years ago a small nucleus of pioneers engineered Chabad’s communal activities around a living room table. Over time they have grown into a multi-faceted organization with eight community centers spread throughout the region. “Celebrating Our 35th Anniversary of Bringing People Together,” the dinner’s theme, reflects the Chabad Center’s mission from day one and the current Year of Hakhel, which occurs once every seven years on the Jewish calendar.

“The achievements we have been blessed with are a direct result of the selfless efforts of outstanding individuals who have made the growth of our educational, charitable and social programs an absolute priority in their lives. We also know that the maximization of past accomplishments is only realized when we regularly take them to a higher level, as the verse says: ’From Strength to Strength.’ We pray that the energy and message of our 35th anniversary dinner will enhance the growth of our community programs to levels yet unseen,” explained Rabbi Asher Herson, regional director of the Chabad Center.

The Chabad Center of Northwest New Jersey serves the greater area with state-of-the-art facilities and a broad array of programs including a Jewish community center, early learning center, adult education institute, youth center, mikvah and an energetic synagogue (which host’s services every morning and evening 365 days a year – the only institution offering three daily services in all of Morris, Sussex and Warren Counties). Seven additional community centers have also been established under the Chabad Center’s auspices in diversified sections of Northwest New Jersey to better serve local constituencies. The Chabad Center also provides chaplaincy services and conducts various programs in conjunction with local hospitals, police departments, school districts and municipalities.
