(Courtesy of Chabad of Passaic) On November 17, at 10:30 a.m., The Chabad Center of Passaic County will host a safeTALK workshop. SafeTALK, a three-hour suicide alertness and prevention training is an innovative workshop that provides participants with tools, knowledge and awareness to assist their peers who may struggle with thoughts of suicide. This is the first event of its kind to be held at The Chabad Center of Passaic County and will be open to students, parents, mental health professionals and the community at large.
The workshop will be presented by Leigh Hershkovich, certified SafeTALK trainer and creative director at CTeen International.
The workshop will provide participants with skills to recognize signs of suicidal thoughts in their friends, peers and community members. All participants will receive a certificate upon completion.
The cost for this three-hour workshop is $18 and registration is required. This event is heavily subsidized.
