Preschool children at Lubavitch on the Palisades learned all about the mitzvah of hachnasat orchim in Parshat Vayeira. They learned that Avrahm’s tent had four doors to welcome guests from each direction. They role played the story of when Avraham welcomed the three angels to his tent. Classes spent the week inviting each other to their classrooms for snack and Shabbat parties and created welcome signs for their homes. Children gained a deeper and meaningful understanding of the mitzvah of hachanasat orchim when they welcomed new students to their classes who arrived from Israel over the last couple of weeks.
