Pre-k students at Lubavitch on the Palisades embarked on an international country tour. Children examined a globe in order to understand where they live in relation to the rest of the world. The children were delighted to learn that they would be spending the week exploring the cultures of India, France and Japan. Over the course of the week, they participated in activities of those countries, cooked and tasted the traditional foods, read books and learned some phrases in French, Japanese and Hindi such as “Bonjour,” “Sayonara,” “Konichiwa” and “Namaste.” Some of the highlights included doing yoga on India Day; watching a French movie and eating French chocolate on France Day; making candy sushi, using chopsticks and learning origami on Japan Day.
