Lubavitch on the Palisades students delved into a unit about brachot in honor of Tu B’Shevat. They explored the theme of trees and sorted foods that grow from the ground and foods that grow on trees in order to learn the difference between fruits and vegetables and the appropriate brachot for each. They examined a part of a tree trunk and planted their own plants to take home. Children especially loved taste testing different foods to learn the brachot go with each snack.
