(Courtesy of Chabad of West Orange) Chabad of West Orange, led by Rabbi Mendy and Altie Kasowitz, facilitated a heartwarming Chanukah celebration and barbecue for Israeli soldiers stationed in the north of the country. This special event was made possible through a partnership with students of Yeshivas Tzeirei Hashluchim in Tsfat.

The initiative was sparked by a personal connection between Rabbi Kasowitz and his nephew, Mordechai Muchnik, a student at the yeshiva in Tsfat. When Mordechai reached out to his uncle with an opportunity to support the soldiers, Rabbi Kasowitz quickly mobilized the community.

Felix and Lina Kanchik generously sponsored the barbecue, enabling Chabad of West Orange to bring joy and appreciation to the soldiers during the Chanukah holiday.

“We’re grateful to Felix and Lina Kanchik for their kindness, and to our community for their enthusiasm,” said Rabbi Kasowitz. “It’s a privilege to support our brave soldiers and bring them a taste of home during Chanukah.”
