(Courtesy of Valley Chabad) The annual springtime teen favorite, the CTeen Shavuot Cheesecake Bake, took place on Zoom on Wednesday night, May 27.
On the Jewish holiday of Shavuot Jews traditionally eat dairy food to commemorate the giving of the Torah. Each year Valley Chabad CTeen director Estie Orenstein would host the teens for a cheesecake bake.
This year the bake-off took place on Zoom. Twenty pre-registered teens received the delivered ingredients and joined for the instruction.
Rabbi Yosef Orenstein, Estie’s husband and program co-director, began the program with relevant insights on the holiday.
CTeen, part of Valley Chabad’s Teen Leadership Initiative, brings together Jewish teens for fun, volunteering and educational activities and is open to all regardless of affiliation.
