Chabads Plan Lag B’Omer Unity Celebration

On Thursday, May 19, 2022, hundreds from the Jewish community are expected to come together at the Alpine Scout Camp for a lively outdoor family barbecue, complete with music, entertainment and games, in celebration of the joyous holiday of Lag B’Omer.

“In the spirit of unity,” says Rabbi Mordechai Shain, director of Lubavitch on the Palisades, “we are excited to join together with our two satellite centers, Chabad of Old Tappan, established in 2006, and Chabad of Closter, established in 2018, to bring the Jewish message of unity to the community.”

“Coming together this year,” says Rabbi Mendy Lewis, director of Chabad of Old Tappan “will not only be a source of joy for our communities, but also a source of comfort for those who sadly lost loved ones during the tragedy last year in Meron, Israel, where Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai is buried.”

“Lag B’Omer is a day associated with blessings,” says Rabbi Yossi Gluckowsky, director of Chabad of Closter. “Coming together to celebrate this day with love and comradery will certainly increase the positive energy of this day, and hasten the ultimate display of unity that we will experience with the coming of Moshiach.”

This event is open to the entire Jewish community.
