CHANGE OF VENUE FOR ANNE FRANK EVENT 10/27

Valley Chabad Eternal Flame and the Bergen County YJCC host an intimate evening with Anne Frank’s step-sister, Mrs. Eva Schloss on Monday, October 27th, 2014. The new location is the Hilton Woodcliff Lake, 200 Tice Blvd. Woodcliff Lake, NJ 07677. Contact Rabbi Yosef Ornstein of The Eternal Flame of Valley Chabad; 100 Overlook Drive; Woodcliff Lake, NJ 07767 201-476-0157

An “intimate” conversation will be followed by a question and answer session with Mrs. Eva Schloss, author, Holocaust survivor and stepsister of Anne Frank. Like her stepsister, Eva went into hiding in Holland, was betrayed, captured, and sent to Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Her candid discussion of her and Anne’s life events promises to be a memorable and stimulating evening.

Eva Schloss and her family were sent to Auschwitz in 1944. Her father and brother did not survive, but she and her mother were freed in 1945 by Russian troops. They returned to Amsterdam, where Eva continued her schooling and then studied art history at the University of Amsterdam. Her mother Elfriede Geiringer (1905–1998) married Otto Frank, father of Anne Frank, in November 1953.
