Chanukahfest, the Union Y’s multi-event program scheduled for Sunday, November 20, from 10:30 until 3:30 a.m., will offer something for everyone. The JEC choir, under the direction of Chana Solomon, will entertain at 1:30. They will be the intermission program for the Hester Street Klezmer Troupe, which will be performing between 11:30 and 3.
There will be an art workshop for children, complete with a variety of crafts to choose from, from 11:30 to 1:30. For adults, The film “Dough” will be screened at noon and 2 p.m.
The “heart” of the day will be at 1 p.m. with the ribbon-cutting opening of the Kirshenbaum Israel Center. Community shlicha Danielle Pearlmutter will be introduced to the community, along with her amazing schedule of Cafe Evrite, Ulpan, Israeli films and special parties that will take place at the center between the end of November and end of April.
Food will be available to purchase as well as over 25 tables of shopping vendors. There is no admission fee.
