Alef Bais letters are Talmudically termed otiot machkimot, letters of brilliance. They embody Hashem’s wisdom. His holiness shines through the forms of each individual letter. By simply gazing at them, one gleans the wisdom and holiness contained within.
Pre-k of Cheder Yaldei Menachem embraced this concept all throughout their study and review of the Alef Bais this year. This week, upon finishing review of the last letter they celebrated their accomplishments with a festive Alef Bais party.
As customary, children licked sweet honey off the letters, symbolizing the sweetness they contain, then formed them with cookie dough and licorice. To top off the special occasion, they played fun review games and made delicious pizza for lunch.
