Teaneck—Bumbleberry Frozen Yogurt is under new management. Stuart Reichman is a chef by training and has more than 30 years of cooking experience in restaurants large and small, has engaged in industrial culinary work and developed products in his own home. Teaneck kosher gastronomes will remember that Reichman was chef at the Fish of the C’s restaurant on Cedar Lane.
Reichman is excited about managing Bumbleberry. “It’s a great location and the possibilities are endless,” he told JLNJ. Reichman has also added new products with plans for more. Customers can now get coffee at Bumbleberry. The beans for each cup of artisan, single origin coffee are ground separately. “The response has been unbelievable,” says Reichman. Other new products include Frappuccino-style drinks (called “Bumbleblasts”), fresh fruit smoothies and frozen yogurt shakes. This is in addition to 10 flavors of frozen yogurt and various candy, cake and fruit toppings.
Reichman has put on his chef’s hat to come up with some new flavors for the frozen yogurt shakes. His most recent creations include a spicy chocolate shake, which includes dried chilies, espresso and chocolate yogurt. Another new creation is the “Elvis,” which is made with vanilla yogurt, peanut butter and banana.
Bumbleberry is also the only local kosher restaurant to carry Jarets Stuffed Cupcakes. Jarets, which recently came under the supervision of Kof-K Supervision, produces over 200 types of stuffed cupcakes. Bumbleberry carries 10 types at a time, but all 200 are available for order. One type, Outrageous Oreo, has chocolate cream on the inside topped with vanilla frosting and a tiny Oreo cookie.
Reichman is a strong believer in customer service. “We want to meet the customer’s needs and make them happy.” Reichman learned a lesson about customer service while working as a chef. His employer would make deliveries for a cup of coffee. When questioned by Reichman, he said, “I look at the lifetime value of a satisfied customer. He might come in once a week for 10 years. That’s 500 weeks. I want to keep him happy.”
One way Reichman tries to make his customers happy is by hiring staff with engaging personalities and who greet customers with a real hello. One of them, Aviva, commented, “It’s the best job!”
Another way to please customers: Bumbleberry will be open during Pesach! During Chol Hamoed, the store will offer a full selection of frozen yogurt, coffees, and more.
Bumbleberry is open from 11 a.m.—9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, although the hours will change during the summer. The store carries Cholov Yisroel and non-Cholov Yisroel products. National Kosher Supervision provides Bumbleberry’s kosher certification. The store uses a natural sweetener, agave, in a number of its products.
So, to satisfy your sweet tooth and your need for a smile, make sure to check out Bumbleberry, located at 1445 Queen Anne Road, in Teaneck.
