On Tuesday November 5, 2024, we will have the opportunity to vote to fill an open seat on the Clifton City Council that was vacated due to the untimely passing of Lauren Murphy. Our community faces several critical issues, including the growth of our institutions, community safety, the freedom to exercise religion, and ensuring our collective needs are addressed with respect.
After meeting with and carefully evaluating the four candidates running for this position and thoughtfully considering their platforms, we respectfully ask you to join us in supporting George Silva (2J) for Clifton City Council.
In our view, George has shown a genuine understanding of our community’s concerns and has consistently demonstrated his support.
While we understand that our community may not always align perfectly with every position of any single candidate, our strength and influence as a community lies in our unified voice.
To ensure that our community continues to be heard by those in government, we must vote together and support the same candidates. It is critical that every eligible voter in each household votes. Please encourage everyone you know to go to the polls.
The working relationship we have been cultivating with members of Clifton city government continues to yield positive results. From appointments to the planning and zoning boards, open space committee, police and fire chaplain, action Clifton committee, traffic safety council, and civil rights committee, to attentiveness to our community’s safety needs-such as school crossing guards, improved sidewalks, and increased police patrols during sensitive times-our efforts are making a difference. There has also been a greater focus on working together to build our community institutions, parks and playgrounds, and expand our influence in city government. Our unified voice is being heard, and it’s essential that we support those who stand with our community!
If you’d like to support our efforts by speaking with fellow community members, placing signs on your property, or helping in other ways, please reach out.
