FDU Division 1 Basketball Coach Greg Herenda, will again be offering his highly successful Basketball Camp and Hoop School June 26-29, 2017, on the campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University in the Rothman Center in Teaneck, for boys and girls 8-16 years old. Yeshiva students who wish to improve their game and develop their basketball skills should plan to attend. Guest coaches will be coming from other Division 1 programs and FDU players will serve as counselors. Professor Ira Jaskoll, FDU Hillel faculty advisor and JV basketball coach at Heichal Hatorah, will be at the camp to insure that all Orthodox students feel comfortable and well taken care of. In addition, strictly kosher pizza and snacks will be provided for campers to buy.
“Coach Herenda is an excellent coach, having taken the FDU team to the NCAA Tournament in 2016,” said Professor Jaskoll. “I also had him speak in my MBA Sports Marketing class and he was inspirational. He is an outstanding speaker as well.”
‘I attended the Hoop School last year and found it to be well run and a lot of fun and the “frum” campers fit in well and developed even more as they played with better quality players.”
Plans are being discussed to have at the end of August a one day, “Prepare for your Basketball Team Tryouts,” immediately before the school year starts.
