Comedians Take Their Show to Israel’s Front Lines

New York—Thanks to the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF), comedians from New York took their acts to the front lines of Israel’s Operation Protective Edge, visiting Israeli soldiers near the border with Gaza to provide a brief respite from the conflict.

Comedians Ari Teman, Danny Cohen, and Benji Lovitt have been performing to packed houses for Israelis throughout the country as part of the Rocket Shelter Comedy Tour (“Stuck in a bomb shelter? We’ll come to you.”)

“It was an emotional experience, meeting these awesome, dedicated, life-saving people,” said Ari Teman. “We came in afraid, unsure how we’d do a show in the middle of a secluded base to a bunch of native Hebrew speakers, and we all walked away speechless, moved, convinced it was one of the best comedy experiences of our lives.”
