Dr. Shalom Kelman  after the 8:30 Ashkenaz minyan  Congregation Bnai Yeshurun  641 W Englewood

New Archaeological Evidence of the Exodus, Dr. Kelman is a neuro-ophthalmologist from Baltimore,  MD. He is a graduate of Yeshiva College and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. At YU, he forged a lifelong bond with Rav Herschel Schachter. His Torah presentations  emphasize a text based methodology that often extend the insightful chidushim of Rav Meir Simcha of Dvinsk, author of the Meschech Chochma, with a scientific and archaeological perspective.

12:15 PM  – 9:00PM   Celebrate Father’s Day with the “Que” at Congregation   Rinat Yisrael , 389 W Englewood. The Wandering Que, the kosher pop-up smokehouse BBQ with its large Texas-style wood-burning BBQ rig. The BBQ will be set up in the parking lot 12:15 pm until 9:00 pm, with tables and seating available for people who want to eat on site. The Wandering Que will be serving its full BBQ menu, which features award-winning pulled and sliced brisket (platters and sandwiches), ribs, chicken, turkey legs, and hot dogs/sausages, as well as chili, cholent, lamb-belly bacon baked beans, soup, key limeade, and other sides.

Moshe’s “Sin” Revisited. This lecture provides a fresh take on a most

fascinating chapter in Moshe’s life. Using contextual and textual clues,

it will lead us to a deeper understanding of why Moshe was deprived of his

role as leader of the Children of Israel.

On Shabbat, June 27, 2015, Rinat Yisrael Adult Education presents Rabbi Yitzchak Eshalom, YULA High Schools addressing: “ Listen You Rebels” – Moshe’s “Sin” Revisited. This lecture provides a fresh take on a most fascinating chapter in Moshe’s life. Using contextual and textual clues, it will lead us to a deeper understanding of why Moshe was deprived of his role as leader of the Children of Israel.

Rabbi Yitzchak Etshalom has been a dynamic and exciting educator in the Los Angeles community since 1985. He attended Yeshivat Kerem Beyavneh, Yeshivat Har Etzion and Yeshiva University and received smicha from the Jerusalem Rabbinate. He is Chairman of Bible and Director of Judaic Studies at YULA High Schools. Rabbi Etshalom is an accomplished songwriter, story teller and radio host and has produced recordings of his own original stories and music. His two volume book, “Between the Lines of the Bible” has garnered
much critical acclaim. In addition, his Talmud and Tanach podcasts of Daf Yomi and Navi recorded at the Young Israel of Century City have attracted an international following.
