Israeli Store Owners Seeking US Locations to Sell Wares

Because of the current situation in Israel, a group of storekeepers on Ben Yehuda Street in Jerusalem would like to come to the NY/NJ area to sell their wares at bazaars and boutiques. They did so successfully during the last intifada and would like to do so again. If there is a JCC, synagogue, school, or other organization interested in having them at an event, please contact Doron or Adir at Doron Kippot and Judaica at 011-972-2-625-8280 or [email protected]

Pablo Picasso:  “Picasso Sculpture”

Monday, November 16 at 10:30am

Join us for brunch and a fascinating background talk at Congregation Ahavath Torah given by Sheryl Intrator Urman, our Art Historian and Lecturer who will speak on the life and times of this master. We will learn not only about his love of sculpture, how he cherished these works and kept them relatively hidden, how they co-existed with his paintings and other works, but also about the art world around him at the time, the highlights of his career and his impact upon other artists.

After brunch we will travel to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City for a tour of the Picasso Sculpture Exhibition which includes a sweeping of survey of Picasso’s innovative works in three dimensions. This is the first such museum exhibition in the U.S. in nearly half a century and has over 100 works showing his breadth of process and use of materials. See how important sculpture was for Picasso, and how he revolutionized its history through a life-long commitment to constant reinvention. Audio tapes will be available to all to help us explore at our own pace.

Full program includes lecture, brunch, transportation to and from MOMA and admission.

Couvert: $48 for full program, $15 for brunch and lecture only.

Reservation and full payment must be made no later than Wednesday, November 11. Contact [email protected].
