Glatt Express to Sponsor Jewish Heritage Day at Rockland Boulders Stadium

Glatt Express Kosher Supermarket on Queen Anne Road in Teaneck is sponsoring Jewish Heritage Day with the Rockland Boulders baseball team on Sunday, June 24, at the Palisades Credit Union Park in Pomona, New York. Dani Secemski, head of operations, will be providing complimentary tickets for the 1:35 p.m. Boulders vs. Salina Stockade game to area schools, synagogues, camps and organizations.

“Baseball, giving back to the Jewish community and Jewish heritage are my biggest passions,” said Secemski. “This will be a really fun day for families to enjoy a day of baseball along with other family-friendly activities that will take place throughout the game.”

Raffles and giveaways will keep the youngsters—and their parents—engaged. Secemski said everyone who comes to the game will receive a gift from Glatt Express. Kosher food will be available. “If you love baseball, you’ll love watching the Boulders game,” Secemski said. “Every seat is amazing; it’s all on one level and there’s not a bad seat on the field.” He noted that the Boulders game is a little shorter than a major league game which is a plus for young families. The Boulders are an independent professional baseball team, part of the Can-Am (Canadian American) Minor League.

Boulders Team President Shawn Reilly said Jewish Heritage Day is a great way for them to show appreciation to fans—and make new ones. “We are excited to partner with Glatt Express to help us make Jewish Heritage Day a signature game of our season,” Reilly said. “The Jewish community has been very supportive of the Boulders and this season more than ever. The day will be fun as we expect a large crowd to cheer the hometown team and celebrate our Jewish fans! Each season the Jewish community’s support for the Boulders grows, and it would be wonderful if someday we could host the Israeli National Baseball team here at Palisades Credit Union Park for games to qualify for the World Baseball Classic.”

Reilly said this will be a great opportunity for baseball fans in the Jewish community to discover the park. “I invite those fans who have not yet visited our beautiful ballpark to come out on June 24. We have Glatt kosher food, evening prayers and even kosher frozen yogurt from 16 Handles. A fun time will be had by all!”

Secemski is looking for organizations that would like to offer honors at the game to their members, like throwing the first pitch. “This is a great way to do some fundraising,” he said. “Charities can offer these opportunities to members as a raffle, contest prize or through a bidding auction.”

Groups and individuals interesting in getting tickets should contact Dani at [email protected].
