(Courtesy of Nevut) This year, on September 11, Nevut will be holding its annual IDF Ride. Bikers of all backgrounds and ages are invited to ride together with IDF lone soldier veterans with one common goal: to face life’s challenges and overcome obstacles. The ride commemorates Nancy Morgenstern, herself an avid biker, who was killed in the World Trade Center attacks, and raises critical funds to support Nevut.

Beginning at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, there are options for 100- and 50-mile routes. The ride is fully supported with a support, gear and medical team, as well as fully stocked pit stops along the way. All riders will receive a jersey, bib, amazing swag and enjoy a delicious post-ride barbeque. Sign up to ride or be a sponsor at https://www.rayze.it/theidfride.

Rabbi Ari Abramowitz, executive founder of Nevut and himself an IDF lone soldier veteran, shares, “The IDF Ride is not only a great event, but a fabulous way for the community to show its support for our soldiers.”

Nevut is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving IDF Lone Soldier Veterans– these are Americans who left their families and lives behind to go to Israel and serve in the Israeli Defense Forces. Upon their return back to America, Nevut (meaning in Hebrew, to navigate) has services, programs and events to ensure that these soldiers are empowered with the resources, and support needed to transition back into civilian life successfully. Nevut provides such services as career guidance, educational scholarships, Shabbatons, employment opportunities, mentoring and mental health counseling.
