JFS Offers ‘The Coffee House’ Day Program

(Courtesy of JFS) JFS is proud to offer The “Coffee House at JFS,” an innovative social and recreational day program serving adults who have mild to moderate memory loss due to cognitive changes caused by dementia or a stroke. Uniquely designed, the program seeks to enhance the overall well-being of each participant in a safe and stimulating environment. The program provides an opportunity to use and strengthen physical and cognitive abilities and skills, increase self-esteem, and offers an opportunity to be social and have fun.

Entertainment, exercise, snacks, lunch and transportation are provided by professional staff three times a week, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Temple Sholom, 1925 Lake Avenue, Scotch Plains, New Jersey. A free monthly concert for the participant and caregiver is offered through a 2023 HEART (History Education Arts Reaching Thousands) grant from the Union County Board of County Commissioners.

Ample on-site parking is available. The program cost is $80 per day and is free for some residents of Union County who qualify. All major credit cards are accepted. Limited financial aid may be available upon request.

“The Coffee House at JFS” is funded by the Union County Division on Aging and Jewish Family Service of Central NJ.
