David Greenfield, NYC Councilman, to Speak in Highland Park

The Orthodox Jewish Forum of Edison/Highland Park will sponsor a presentation by Councilman David Greenfield addressing the topic, “What Jews Want in the New Political Order: An Insider’s View.” Councilman Greenfield will speak at 8 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, at Congregation Etz Ahaim, 230 Denison Street in Highland Park. The program is free of charge and open to the entire community.

Greenfield, a New York City Councilman, who represents more Jews than any other locally elected official in the world, is a rising star in New York politics. He is unabashedly supportive of the State of Israel and is a champion of many issues of importance to the Jewish community. He will share his perspective on the current national political scene and his experiences as one of the highest ranking officials in New York City government.

Greenfield has a reputation for “telling it like it is” and has made his perspective sought after by news media around the world. Even before he was elected, Greenfield was featured as a political analyst on diverse news outlets including Fox News and the New York Times. Before his election, Greenfield was Executive Vice President of the Sephardic Community Federation, the umbrella government relations and public policy organization of the Sephardic Jewish community, where he worked closely with public officials at every level of government to improve the lives of all New Yorkers. He was also the founding Director and Counsel of TEACH NYS, advocating on behalf of parents of New York State’s 500,000 Catholic, Jewish and independent schoolchildren.

Greenfield is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC and Touro College in New York City, where he graduated summa cum laude and was valedictorian. He is a lifelong resident of Brooklyn where he lives with his wife and three small children.

The Orthodox Forum gladly accepts season sponsorships, as well as program sponsorships. For more information go online to www.orthodoxjewishforum.org.
