Completely Kosher Productions Live Podcast ‘Frontlines’ Tackles Hot Topic: ‘Guns N’ Moses’

It’s premium and engaging Jewish-themed media that you never knew you needed as Completely Kosher Productions brings you yet another high-caliber entertainment experience on Sunday, February 4 at 8 p.m., this time in the form of a live podcast that is going to keep everyone talking for months.

Created to enable a clean, high-quality level of entertainment, the goal of Completely Kosher Productions is to engage and entertain while serving a higher purpose: fostering unity among fellow Jews, as well as the population at large.

Following the success of Completely Kosher Productions’ L.O.L. comedy night back in December, Dr. Jonathan Lewin’s family challenged him to try something different by running a live podcast. No stranger to the world of broadcast, Lewin had worked in radio while he was a student at Yeshiva University. A live Jewish-themed podcast, with a twist, was definitely different and something that Lewin couldn’t recall ever seeing. With that in mind, he decided to accept his family’s challenge. “There are several quality Jewish podcasts available, but I felt we could add value by an in-person, live format where people are given full chance to express their positions without being cut off or reduced to small sound bites,” he said. “We need to be able to hear the various vantage points in order to gain the most.”

The podcast is called “Frontlines: Discuss, Debate, Decide,” and the goal is to bring to light topics of interest to the Jewish community and the world at large. The premier episode, called “Guns N’ Moses,” will take a deep dive into the Second Amendment as a group of panelists discuss and debate guns, Jews and Jewish law in a post-October 7 world. “I thought it was an important and timely topic, especially in the context of recent events,” said Lewin. “The format will include, as per title, some discussion, debate and open forum as well as call-ins from listeners.”

Lewin first reached out to Anthony Colandro, owner of Gun For Hire, LLC and a fierce advocate for strengthening the Second Amendment, who immediately accepted Lewin’s invitation. Colandro is an NRA board member who also happens to be a veteran podcaster with a following that rivals some Hollywood’s biggest liberal A-listers. He said the Second Amendment is for everyone: “It is better to have a gun and never need it than to need a gun and not have it.” Founded in 1992, Gun For Hire “promotes the safe, responsible, constitutional and God given right to self defense… As long as evil exists, as it has since the beginning of time, the need to counter evil is necessary.”

Also joining the panel is Richard McMahon III, former Montclair deputy mayor and councilor at large who is an established attorney with over 40 years of legal experience. McMahon is an outspoken advocate for stricter gun control and firmly believes that Americans are misinterpreting the word “regulated” in the Second Amendment. Citing guns as the leading cause of death of children in the United States, he is grateful to live in a state that has gun control laws that are stricter than most.

Rabbi Shay Tahan, a renowned posek who runs a beis horaha where he fields highly complex halachic inquiries on a daily basis will participate in the podcast. A regular fixture on the Kol Barama radio station, Rabbi Tahan gives Torah insights and answers questions on numerous topics posed by listeners.

Rabbi Elliot Schrier of Congregation Bnai Yeshurun and Yali Elkin, Community Security Team Member at Bnai Yeshurun will also weigh in on the podcast discussion and offer perspectives on how Jews could and should view these matters.
