Cong. Beth Abraham Hosts Rabbi Shalom Rosner for Yom Yerushalayim Shiur Welcoming Future Eucalyptus Olim

(Courtesy of Beth Abraham) In a moving and memorable shiur this past Friday, Congregation Beth Abraham in Bergenfield was privileged to host Rabbi Shalom Rosner, esteemed rav of Kehillat Nofei HaShemesh in Beit Shemesh. The shiur, delivered in honor of Yom Yerushalayim, drew a large and enthusiastic crowd, including many families preparing to make aliyah next summer as part of the Eucalyptus project.

Rabbi Rosner’s shiur, titled “Chosen City, Eternal Flame,” focused on why Yerushalayim holds such profound significance in Jewish life and what it represents spiritually, historically and nationally. With his signature blend of Torah depth, clarity and passion, Rabbi Rosner connected ancient texts to the modern Zionist dream, offering inspiration to those preparing to plant roots in the land of Israel.

“It was incredibly meaningful to hear Torah about Yerushalayim — especially from someone who lives and breathes Eretz Yisrael,” said Josh Gottesman. “The fact that so many of us in the room are heading there soon made the message even more powerful.”

The event had particular significance for future residents of Eucalyptus, a new neighborhood in Beit Shemesh drawing dozens of families from North America. The strong turnout from these future olim created a palpable sense of unity, excitement and shared purpose, as well as a warm, welcoming environment for those beginning this journey together. The program and breakfast were generously sponsored by Kehillat Nofei HaShemesh as a way of warmly welcoming these new families into the community.
