Rabbi David Silber, dean of the Drisha Institute, will be a second lecture at Rinat Yisrael on the 12th, beginning at 8:15 p.m. The first lecture was about the Tower of Babel and the second will be about Megillat Esther. Rabbi Silber is a widely acclaimed teacher and lecturer on biblical narrative and liturgy. He is the founder of the Drisha Institute, an advanced program of Jewish studies for women. As the dean he is responsible for the creation of such innovative programs as the Summer High School, the Scholars’ Circle and the College Immersion Program. Under his leadership, Drisha has engaged Jews from differing backgrounds and has sought to symbolize the values that Rabbi Silber holds dear: seeking an authenticity in and towards Judaism; valuing multiple perspectives and maintaining a strong commitment to halakha. He, with Rachel Furst, is the author of the popular A Passover Haggadah. For information, call 201-837-2795.
