In one of the most dominating performances in recent competition, the RKYHS girls varsity soccer team capped off their undefeated season in resounding fashion by defeating the SAR Sting by the score of 11-4. The Cobras took a commanding 4-1 lead early in the first period and never looked back after that. For a good part of the game, they had a seven goal lead. From one end of the floor to the next, it was a total team effort.
Senior Hannah Koppel, who was also the game MVP led the way with four goals. She set the tone with not only dazzling goals, but also with some great assists. Junior Liav Merlin took care of business by also scoring four goals, including a goal late in the game to seal the victory. Senior Sophia Eisenberg displayed tremendous intensity throughout the game by scoring two goals. Senior Anna Margolin, who was rock solid on defense all season long, scored one goal. Senior Maya Margolis was brilliant as goalie, stopping many shots on goal with her great athleticism and hustle.
The team was brilliantly coached by Brian Koppel.
