On the last afternoon of Pesach, Shabbat, April 30, between Mincha and Maariv, Ahavas Achim will host its annual Neilat HaChag celebration. All are invited to the downstairs social hall for singing and divrei Torah. Please bring any packaged kosher l’Pesach cookies, cakes, snacks and treats that will not be eaten after Pesach to fuel the Neilat HaChag.
Yom HaShoah Commemoration
The Ahavas Achim Shoah Committee presents the annual pre-Yom HaShoah commemoration on Shabbat afternoon, May 7, between Mincha and Maariv, when the story of Mrs. Tova Friedman will be shared. Mrs. Friedman, a resident of Highland Park, is one of the youngest child survivors of Auschwitz-Birkenau. She currently works as a therapist at Jewish Family Services of Somerset County. All adults and children 10 and over are encouraged to attend and bear witness to the destruction wrought upon our people during World War II.
