Congregation Arzei Darom to Hold Annual Dinner

Congregation Arzei Darom of Teaneck will hold its 16th Annual Journal Dinner on Sunday, June 10, at 6 p.m. at Temple Emeth in Teaneck, New Jersey. Guests of honor will be Ron and Aliza Goldgewert.

The Goldgewerts have been dedicated and active members of Arzei Darom since moving to Teaneck in 2006. Ron and Aliza’s consistent leadership and unwavering support have been instrumental to the ongoing growth of Arzei Darom.

Following a term as a general board member, Ron’s four-year tenure as Arzei Darom’s president began in 2010. For the past four years, Ron has served as treasurer.

Ron has also contributed tremendously to the spiritual side of Arzei Darom. One of his first volunteer roles in the community was as editor of Mikrai Kodesh, a compilation of Divrei Torah written by shul members. Ron moved on to delivering shiurim to the community on Yomim Tovim as part of the Oleh L’regel series. He also gives a popular weekly Gemara Chaburah on Shabbat morning. Additionally, Ron is a longstanding member of the synagogue’s Torah reading rotation.

Like Ron, Aliza has been integral to the community at Arzei Darom. She has been central to the membership committee since arriving in Teaneck, and has chaired this committee for the past five years. Aliza ensures that everyone receives a warm welcome to the community. Also, she actively participates in the mishloach manot and bake sale committees.

In addition to her dedicated work for Arzei Darom, Aliza has been an involved member of the Yeshivat Noam board for a number of years, most recently serving on the executive board as the school’s treasurer. She has also served the school in various volunteer capacities.
