Congregation Israel of Springfield (CIS) wrapped up its youth program for the 2014-15 season with an indoor BBQ for the teen group [see photo 1]. The program consists of parallel tracks for Chamudim [ages 4-7], Chanichim [ages 8-12] and Teens [13- HS]. Presently CIS has over 100 children in its early childhood and youth programs.

For the past three years, the youth programs were led by Tzvi and Rifka Miretzky. Now moving on to new positions and professional challenges elsewhere, the Miretzkys leave us with many great memories of Teen get-togethers and activities, along with countless special activities and programs enjoyed by the younger children [see photo 2].

Rabbi Chaim Marcus provides overall guidance for the programs, with lay leadership led by the Youth Committee, chaired by Andrew Nusbaum.

Cong. Israel greatly anticipates the upcoming 2015-16 season of youth programming, as we welcome our new youth leaders, Josh and Michal Geiger. Our new team promises to bring a whole new level of organized programming, fun, friendship, enthusiasm for prayer and mitzvot, and community togetherness.

The forecast clearly indicates a sweet New Year, and a wonderful season to follow for Cong. Israel’s growing kehilla!
